The Secura Driving Day 2019

By Matthew Reeve on 18th June, 2019.

It’s back!

Every quarter, Secura host the driving day at Mercedes-Benz World. This event provides a fantastic opportunity for anyone considering our services to find out more about Secura, what we can offer to our customers, and of course enjoy the unforgettable driving experiences.

Located just outside Surrey on the famous Brooklands racing circuit, the facility boasts both its own racing circuit and 10-acre off-road course. Guests can experience the thrill of driving top end Mercedes AMG models around the track as well as pushing Mercedes’ 4x4s to their limit in the all-terrain area.

Our Network

At the driving day, you’ll be welcomed by the Secura team who will be on-hand to help with any queries you may have regarding our Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), Web Protect, Cloud DR and Azure Control services. But more importantly, we always bring along some of our current customers, so you can hear their experiences of being a Secura customer and the benefits of working in partnership with us first hand.

The event offers a unique opportunity to speak face-to-face with other businesses about the challenges of finding a right-fit managed hosting solution, as well as learn from those who are already benefitting from hosting with Secura. We firmly believe hearing our successes directly through our customers is far more genuine and significant than coming from us.

Getting these first-hand accounts of how Secura’s service, support and migration process works in the ‘real world’ is the best way for you to get a sense of Secura as a business and partner.

The Itinerary

The day kicks off with some brief presentations in the conference room. First by Ollie Beaton, Secura’s CEO, followed by presentations from our customers. The customer presentations give an insight into their respective businesses and how the technology and service they receive from Secura benefits their business and helps them achieve and exceed their goals.

After this, it’s a buffet lunch – although you may not want to indulge too heavily before hitting the track! You can also make the most of the three-floor purpose-built facility which houses an impressive range of exhibitions, vintage cars, and state of the art driving simulators. After lunch, it’s time to jump in the cars!

The Driving Experience

Track

Mercedes-Benz World features a non-banked test circuit, allowing you to get behind the wheel of some of the latest Mercedes AMG-line vehicles to experience the speed, handling and power of these cars! There’s also a low friction braking straight and wet skid circle. Under expert one-to-one guidance from a Mercedes driving specialist, you’ll develop your driving skills and learn about the crucial role the cars’ inbuilt technology plays.

4×4

The 10-acre off-road section features steep inclines, water crossings and axel-twisting obstacles designed to push your Mercedes 4×4 to the limit. Under the guidance of a Mercedes driving specialist, you’ll encounter a series of demanding challenges and learn how the steering, traction systems and other inbuilt technologies helps you overcome them. It’s nerve racking stuff, but also enormous fun.

Get Involved

We hold driving days at regular intervals throughout the year and if you’d like to come along and find out more about Secura, both from us and our customers, then drop us a line.

Finally, a big thanks to all our guests and customers who make these events such great days!

Mercedes-Benz World

Mercedes-Benz World is a fantastic venue for the event, with first-rate facilities, attractions and exhibits for both petrol-heads and non-car lovers alike and the showroom and Mercedes museum is a great place to spend an hour or two.

The centre has a huge amount of motor racing heritage attached to it and is built within the Brooklands motor racing circuit, which was the very first purpose-built banked motor race circuit in the world.

The first race meeting at Brooklands took place in 1907 in the inaugural Montague Cup race. The old banked corners of the circuit are still visible around the site, particularly as you find yourself almost vertical in a 4×4 Mercedes as you make your way around the purpose built off-road track (gulp).
