Guidance: Configuring SecuraDesk Cloud Desktop

In this article, we will review the steps required to setup the SecuraDesk cloud desktop application on your desktop PC, Mac and iPad. Follow these simple steps and your new desktop will be up and running in no time.

1. Configuring a PC for SecuraDesk Cloud Desktop

1. Install Citrix Receiver

  • Go to http://www.citrix.com/downloads and download the latest version of the Citrix Receiver software for Windows
  • Install the Receiver client using the default options
  • Once the software is installed click the Add Account button

2. Add the Server Address

  • Type the server address https://apps.securadesk.com and click Next

3. Add Your Credentials and Log On

  • Enter your email address in the User name field and type your password, then click Log On

4. Allow Changes

  • Click Yes to allow the software to make changes to your computer

5. Complete the Install

  • Finally, click Finish

6. Add Your Desktop Apps

  • The Citrix Receiver window will launch. Click the Plus Sign (+) on the left of the window

7. Select the SecuraDesk App

  • Click All Applications and click SecuraDesk Desktop from the applications list

8. Launch SecuraDesk Desktop

  • You can now click the SecuraDesk Desktop icon to launch your cloud desktop

Accessing Citrix Receiver

You can access the Citrix Receiver window at any time by double-clicking the Receiver icon in the Windows notification bar.

2. Configuring a Mac for SecuraDesk Cloud Desktop

1. Install Citrix Receiver

  • Go to http://www.citrix.com/downloads and download the latest version of the Citrix Receiver software for Mac.
  • Install the Receiver client using the default options.
  • Launch the Citrix Receiver by pressing the Apple Command key (⌘) and the space bar to launch spotlight search then typing Citrix.
  • Double-click the Citrix Receiver icon

2. Add the Server Address

  • Type the server address https://apps.securadesk.com and click Next

  • You can now click the SecuraDesk Desktop icon to launch your cloud desktop

Accessing Citrix Receiver

You can access the Citrix Receiver window at any time by clicking the Receiver icon in the status menu and clicking Open Citrix Receiver.

3. Configuring an iPad for SecuraDesk Cloud Desktop

1. Install Citrix Receiver

  • Open the App Store and search for Citrix
  • Install the Citrix Receiver application
  • The instructions for iPhone are very similar and this guide can be used to assist with configuration settings for the iPhone

2. Launch the App

  • Once installed launch the Citrix Receiver application and press Add Account

3. Add the Server Address

  • Type the address https://apps.securadesk.com

4. Add Your Credentials and Log On

  • Type your email address in the User name field, enter your password and type securadesk in the domain field, then click Log On

5. Add Your Desktop Apps

  • The Citrix Receiver window will launch. If you don’t see the SecuraDesk Desktop icon, press the Plus Sign (+) on the left of the window

6. Select the SecuraDesk App

  • Press the plus (+) sign next to SecuraDesk Desktop to pin this application to your Citrix Receiver

7. Launch SecuraDesk Desktop

  • Press the SecuraDesk Desktop icon to launch your cloud desktop

4. Logging Off SecuraDesk Cloud Desktop

1. Sign Out of SecuraDesk Desktop

  • When you are finished working on the SecuraDesk cloud desktop you should log off by clicking on your username in the Windows Start screen and clicking or pressing Sign out
