Survey Highlights Unstoppable Cloud

A new survey ‘The Future of Cloud Computing’ has been completed and the findings have been published.

The survey was one of the broadest and largest to date in the cloud computing industry and is proving a very interesting read. It’s no secret that cloud services are growing rapidly year on year and here are some of the conclusions of the survey:

Cloud Computing Future: Conclusions

  • Cloud computing continues to rise through 2013 and around 75% of businesses are using some form of cloud computing platform (up from 67% in 2012)
  • IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) has grown 29% in the last year
  • SaaS (Software as a Service), used by 63% of companies is up 8% from 2012
  • Companies are less worried about security in the cloud and are focusing more on the benefits
  • Cloud growth is massively outpacing traditional software
  • Cloud APIs (Application Programming Interface) are increasing around 11% year on year
