On Monday 30th April, Secura entered a four-ball team into a charity golf competition at Brocket Hall in aid of the Children Are Butterflies charity.
We were delighted to once again be invited to take part in this fun event, at such a prestigious course and show our support for this very worthy charity.
Brocket Hall is one of the UK’s most exclusive golf venues, with two championship golf courses and first-class practice facilities including the Palmerston Golf Academy and a luxury clubhouse.
The day started out with the predictable April showers but after a big breakfast and a rousing team talk, the skies cleared and the golfers were primed for a first-rate competition in their four-ball teams.
Spearheading Secura’s run at the podium this year were CFO Eddie Beaton, John ‘Big Drive’ Biswell, Neil ‘The Mac Attack’ MacDonald, along with Richard Dunn from Causeway who was an honorary member of the Secura team for the day.
The team had a fantastic day playing on the course, with daring bunker escapes, close calls with the water and majestic drives, managing to secure themselves…a higher than last place finish (it’s the taking part that counts after all!).
Following the competition, the golfers enjoyed a delicious dinner in the Brocket Hall clubhouse, along with a charity auction and raffle to raise funds for the Children are Butterflies charity.
Children Are Butterflies is a charity based in Northampton that provides support and a community to bereaved families who have lost a child of any age. All the money raised from the Brocket Hall golf day event, auction and raffle will be donated to the charity in support of their continued work.
To find out more about the Children Are Butterflies charity, or to make a donation, please visit their fundraising page. All donations, however big or small, are gratefully received and go a long way towards helping support the bereaved families they work with.
We’d like to say a big thank you to event organiser, Ryan, and everyone at Brocket Hall for hosting and inviting us along for a fantastic day of golf. Also, a special mention for our honorary team member, Richard from Causeway, who helped uphold the sporting credentials and respectability of the Secura team.
Sally is the marketing manager at Secura and makes sure all our events and campaigns run along just tickety-boo.
